Currently, Tomcat has just been added to Apache of a web server, which oringially, just installed PHP.

I found that the JSP pages supported by Tomcat is very slow, normally need 20 seconds to open a page. PHP page is still fast, just need about 4 seconds to open a similar page.

Anyone has the same situation?

The database for Tomacat is Oracle, and the database for php is mysql.
These are all installed in the one machine. The 4G memory is always about 98% used, CPU is just used 6%.

Can you see a large web site supported by Tomcat? it is seldom, i just know chinaren.com uses Tomcat, but i believe its server is powerful, otherwise, it is not possible to serve for so many users. Jave Bean, J2EE and JSP are suitable for small web site, well, the small web site could be for large company.

but it is slow, i guess it utilises jvm, so Applet is worse than Macromedia Flash, now, it is hard to see an Applet in web sites.
For web server, as i know the Tomcat is not for enterprise.
